Blues - Bluetooth Context-Aware System
Blues is a Bluetooth context-aware system for handheld devices, like mobile phones, smartphones and laptops. Technically speaking, Blues is a distributed infrastructure (OSGi-based) compound by several base stations (Bluetooth access points) that provide context-aware services to mobile phones present in the area of each base station. The base stations are connected to a central server that orchestrate and monitor them. A service is a (Java) plugin that can be deployed from the server graphical interface (GUI) to a subset of the base stations.
I have designed and developed Blues for the University of Bologna ("Sistema museale d'Ateneo") and Ser.In.Ar., in collaboration with Dr. Stefano Cacciaguerra and Prof. Giorgio Casadei.

Linux tools/software
Epoch
Epoch is a simple tool that shows epoch time, and converts epoch time to date and viceversa. It's quite useful when you need to work with epoch time inside a shell script.
